
DR. MICHELLE BENDECK
Professor Bendeck received her PhD from the University of Toronto, and was a postdoctoral fellow in the Vascular Biology Group at the University of Washington in Seattle. She is a professor in the Department of Laboratory Medicine and Pathobiology, and a Scientist in the Translational Biology and Engineering Program at the Ted Rogers Centre for Heart Research. Her research is focused on the study of the cell adhesion and extracellular matrix signaling in the cardiovascular system, and she is frequently invited to lecture around the world. Professor Bendeck has served as the president of the North American Vascular Biology Organization (NAVBO), and she co-founded the Matrix Biology and Bioengineering Workshop, which has run for more than 15 years.
